About four months ago I wrote a post about IndyTechFest 2011, why people in the SQL Server community would be interested in this event, social networking surrounding the event, etc. At that time, the anticipated date for the event was in May. Well, it’s looking like the event is still on. However, the plans are now looking like a September or October 2011 date. This comes from a tweet I saw from Dave Leininger (Twitter) yesterday in response to a question about whether or not the event would be held this year.
The first time I attended this event was October 2008, so I’m not surprised that it might switch back to an autumn time-frame. This year’s PASS Summit will be October 10-14 (including the pre-conference days) so I’d imagine they’ll avoid colliding with that major event.
In the mean time, SQL Saturday #82 in Indianapolis is in the works for June 25th. I’m also keeping my fingers crossed that someone will offer a pre-con event the day before (I’ve previously blogged about pre-con events here).
